The Challenge
BNP Paribas Cardif offers warranty extensions, damage and theft insurance coverage for consumer electronics via retail partners. Consumers are offered these products at the time of their purchase, which they may obtain immediately. BNP Paribas Cardif had this system developed and operated by a third-party supplier. In order to gain greater control, reduce time to market and deliver the same solution to new retailers in the entire region, the company opted for a single in-house online insurance system. Beyond regional support and ease-of-use, the new application must quickly adapt to country level policies and retailer processes.
The Solution
Not the first time we have been asked to develop for a regional company, and we love these assignments. Our analysts kicked off the project by understanding and reengineering the insurance quotation, purchase and back office processes. The previously used tool was analyzed too. We designed the J2EE application in a way that it can be easily tailored to country and customer level differences while establishing a hierarchical site and partner structure. Although it has a common user interface, retail partners can have their own branded sites. There is a central management module and assigned BNP Paribas Cardif site managers can handle parameters, products, pricing, margins, vouchers and many more.
